SACRAMENTO, Calif. – December 13, 2023 – Outstanding California probation leaders were recognized for their community contributions with awards from the Chief Probation Officers of California on Dec. 7 in Sacramento. Awardees were celebrated for their work and dedication to transforming adults and youth seeking healthy, productive lives outside the justice system.
The winner of the CPOC Employee of the Year and North Region Employee of the Year awards is Scott Quade, formerly of the Plumas County Probation Department.

EL DORADO COUNTY, Calif. – December 7, 2023 – El Dorado County Health & Human Services staff member Mindi Paxiao was recognized at the 2023 Annual Chief Probation Officers of California Awards Ceremony with the Tim Fitzharris Award. The award acknowledges outstanding achievements in community corrections by honoring a non-probation employee who has made a substantial and noteworthy contribution. Eligible recipients may include volunteers, Juvenile Justice Commissioners, journalists, college professors, or others who have demonstrated excellence in their work within the corrections sector.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — December 21, 2023 – A Placer County deputy probation officer received national recognition for his work in more than 45 cases regarding the homeless, according to a Chief Probation Officers of California (CPOC) press release.
Placer County Probation Outreach Team member Deputy Probation Officer James Corry has worked in probation since 2016 and for Placer County for 17 years. Through 2023, Corry has engaged with the homeless, coordinated cleanup efforts, distributed water and has even saved lives through his kindness.
