Best Practices for Batterer Intervention Program (BIP) – Sacramento 2024

Training

Batterer intervention programming (BIP) is an important component in the treatment of DV offenders. Ensuring that BIP providers comply with operational guidelines and use promising and evidence-based programming is a critical responsibility of California’s Probation Departments.

This course will examine the penal code requirements for approving BIP’s, as well as the process for corrective action when programs are not in compliance.  Policies and procedures from various counties for approving and evaluating BIP’s will be reviewed and discussed. Participants will have the opportunity to assess materials and processes for best practices in BIP certification, including bringing their county’s policies, procedures, and certification forms for reference and review during the course.

Please note that this class is designed for probation staff only. BIP providers are not appropriate for this class.
