Marguerite Harris
Marguerite Harris is a Chief Deputy Probation Officer for the San Luis Obispo County’s Probation Department and has served as the Superintendent of Department’s Juvenile Hall since 2016. Marguerite started her career in probation in 1997, as a Juvenile Institutions Officer for Santa Barbara County. She was hired by San Luis County Probation Department in 2001 as a Juvenile Services Officer. Marguerite was promoted through the ranks having a variety of assignments in the Juvenile Divisions. She has worked at the state level being a JCO and DPO CORE instructor, CAPIA Central Region Chair, a member of the California Association of Probation Institutions Administrator (CAPIA) State Executive Board, is currently a member of the Executive Steering Committee for the BSCC Title 15 revisions, and a member of both the nutrition and education work Title 15 work groups. When Marguerite became the Superintendent of the Juvenile Hall, she collaborated with County Office of Education to bring PBIS into the San Luis Obispo Juvenile Hall. The implementation has become a state model. Marguerite has been a presenter at state and national conferences.
