Breakout Session Highlight: Strategies to Support the Preservation of Indian Children and Their Families
CPOC Foundation is excited to announce that on Tuesday afternoon our conference will feature Supervising Probation Officers Yvonne Salgado and Clara Lapastora with San Diego County Probation who will be sharing successful strategies in working with Indian children, their families and tribal leaders to enhance family preservation efforts. Effective strategies focusing on engagement, collaboration and strong partnerships which support their efforts to adhere to ICWA mandates will all be highlighted.
You don’t want to miss this opportunity to hear from our speakers who recently returned from the 988 Tribal Response Conference where they participated in service mapping with local tribal leaders, law enforcement, and service providers. Probation Officers Salgado and Lapastora have written and developed policies, procedures, and training for San Diego County Probation to support ICWA requirements and tribal engagement and regularly share their expertise with other California counties.
