Kern County Probation Visit Leads to Arrest on Drug, Firearm Charges

KERN COUNTY, Calif. – February 18, 2025 –  Officers with the Kern County Probation Department arrested a man last week on suspicion of crimes including illegal possession of a firearm and a having a controlled substance for sale.

A news release the agency issued Tuesday said officers searching a home in the 2800 block of Skyline Boulevard on Feb. 11 found a .38 special caliber Smith & Wesson revolver, live ammunition and almost 30 grams of what appeared to be methamphetamine.

The release said Manuel Baeza was arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, possession of ammunition by a prohibited person, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance for sales, violation of probation and other charges.
