In-Person Training
This in-person course provides the students with a contextual
understanding of the origin of the Act and its statewide purpose.
We then proceed through the various facets of the Act, noting
where and how it may arise and apply or not apply to hypothetical
scenarios. The teaching objective is to have students leave the
course understanding this body of law and with confidence in
their ability to properly administer it. Review and analysis of
the Public Safety Officers’ Procedural Bill of Rights Act (Gov
Code sec. 3300-3312), including statutory modifications, court
decisions impacting on the statute, and how the Act is to be
applied.
