Holly Benton has served as Chief Probation Officer for the County of Santa Barbara Probation Department since 2023. With over 34 years of experience in the community corrections field, Chief Benton has developed expertise in multiple arenas, including adult and juvenile community corrections, juvenile detention and assessment centers, grant-funded prevention and intervention programs, research and information technology, evidence-based practices implementation, and professional standards.  She has extensive experience working on collaborative interagency teams, participating on state and local policy councils and advisory groups, and leading strategic/change initiatives. Chief Benton holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of La Verne and a Master of Public Administration from California State University, San Bernardino.
