Informational Workshop: CalAIM Justice-Involved (JI) Initiative – Impact on Probation

The CalAIM Justice-Involved (JI) Initiative is an opportunity to enhance access to effective treatment, services, and supports to improve outcomes for justice-involved youth and their families. Health Management Associates (HMA), a CPOC Probation Partner specializing in justice-involved healthcare including medications for addiction treatment (MAT), will be providing an informational workshop on October 18, 2024. Representatives from HMA will review the requirements of the CalAIM JI Initiative related to substance use disorder (SUD), pre-release and reentry planning, and enhanced care management (ECM). During this workshop, attendees will hear about:
- The requirements of the CalAIM JI Initiative related to SUD, opioid use disorder (OUD), and MAT
- Where probation departments should be now in their preparations for the CalAIM JI Initiative and how to leverage lessons learned from CalAIM JI Initiative preparation efforts to date
- How to assess and update your CalAIM JI Initiative Plan
- How the CalAIM JI Initiative can assist with reentry planning
- ECM and what is means for those serving detained youth
- Identification of opportunities for integrating county-wide efforts for MAT, pre-release services, reentry, and ECM
